Ergonomics & Manual Handling

Having a workstation set up specific to a person’s needs promotes health wellbeing and comfort, reducing pain and discomfort that can be caused through poor positioning of equipment, desktop computers, settings on chairs etc.

Ergonomics also includes lighting, ventilation, noise, location of office / workspace, desks, keeping hydrated, taking breaks and exercises, like the 20:20 rule etc, which all impacts on workplace comfort.

Manual Handling involves teaching people how to move and lift with reduced risk of injury. It can also include job or task rotation, exercises and loading.
